Matt Davidson, Portland Winterhawks Mourn Passing of Matt Davidson The Director of Player Personnel
The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club is deeply saddened by the news that Matt Davidson, our Director of Player Personnel, has passed away.

Matt’s legacy with the Winterhawks spanned decades, beginning as a dedicated player from 1993 to 1997. He later returned as a regional scout, ultimately rising to lead our scouting department as Director of Player Personnel. In this role, he was a guiding force for both our scouts and players, shaping the future of the organization with his keen eye and unwavering commitment.
Beyond his professional impact, Matt was cherished for his infectious personality. He was a man who loved his family deeply, was passionate about hockey, and genuinely cared for everyone around him. His presence enriched our club culture and left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Our thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, Jane, his son, Hyde, and all his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. The Winterhawks organization mourns the loss of a true pillar of our community, and we will honor his memory as we move forward.
